Armando Segato : ウィキペディア英語版 | Armando Segato
Armando Segato (3 May 1930 – 19 February 1973) was an Italian football (soccer) player. Armando Segato was born in Vicenza, Italy. He played left halfback for the fabulous Fiorentina side of the 1950s (one championship, 4 consecutive 2nd place finishes and one Champions Cup final lost to Real Madrid). Still famous in the eyes of the 'Viola' fans are his left-footed crosses that tore through the field to meet the runs of Julinho and Virgili. Loyal, proper, and athletic he set an example even for opponents who respected him like a teammate. For the national team he was among the most featured players in the decade (20 caps) and at the 1954 World Cup he played in a game against Switzerland. In 1961 Fiorentina became the first Italian team to win a European Cup (Cup Winners Cup) but he had just left Florence for Udine where he closed his career in 1964 with the small side. ==References==
